1. Introduction
Goldbelt, Inc. (“Goldbelt” or “GBI”) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify Goldbelt shareholders and shareholder descendants who are interested in serving as speakers for internal programming initiatives focused on Tlingit culture, ANCSA and related topics.
This RFP is intended to gather qualifications, topic areas and interest from potential speakers in order to develop a database of individuals who may support future internal speaker engagements.
This RFP does not constitute an award, contract or guarantee of engagement. Engagements, scope and compensation will be determined through separate agreements if and when services are requested.
2. Organizational Background
Goldbelt is an Alaska Native Corporation rooted in Tlingit culture and dedicated to serving its shareholders.

This initiative supports Goldbelt’s mission by strengthening internal understanding of Tlingit culture and shareholder perspectives, while honoring our cultural foundation and responsibility to our owners.
3. Purpose of the RFP
Goldbelt is initiating an internal speaker series designed to elevate cultural knowledge, historical understanding and shareholder-informed perspectives across the organization.
The purpose of this RFP is to:
- Identify shareholders and shareholder descendants interested in speaking opportunities
- Collect information on areas of expertise and proposed topics
- Build a structured database of potential speakers
- Support internal cultural education and engagement initiatives
4. Scope of Potential Topics
Goldbelt invites proposals on topics including, but not limited to:

Tlingit culture

Tlingit history (ancient to contemporary, including ANCSA)
-
Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA)
-
Tlingit language
-
Traditions and cultural practices
-
Art and material culture
-
Natural history
-
Subsistence rights
-
Inspirational talks rooted in cultural values or shareholder experience
-
Other relevant topics
Goldbelt is open to a range of approaches and perspectives that align with its mission and cultural foundation.
5. Eligibility
This RFP prioritizes:

Goldbelt shareholders
-
Shareholder descendants
Non-shareholder subject matter experts may be considered if aligned with program needs.
6. Proposal Requirements
Interested individuals must submit the following information:
A. Speaker Overview
Provide a brief biography that includes:

Shareholder status
-
Cultural affiliation (if applicable)

Relevant knowledge, expertise or lived experience
-
Prior speaking experience (if applicable)
Formal speaking experience is not required.
B. Proposed Topic(s)
Provide a description of proposed topic(s), including:

Title (if available)

Overview of subject matter

Key themes or areas of focus

Intended message or audience takeaway
C. Supporting Materials (Optional)
If available, please include:

Video recordings of prior talks

Written work or related publications

References or recommendations
7. Evaluation Process
Submissions will be reviewed by Goldbelt leadership and/or designated reviewers.
Evaluation considerations include:

Potential contribution to internal cultural understanding
Goldbelt reserves the right to:

8. Compensation & Engagement Terms
This RFP is issued for information-gathering and speaker identification purposes only.
If selected for future engagement:

Scope of work will be defined at that time
-
Compensation will be negotiated and formalized through a separate agreement
-
Payment terms will be outlined in the applicable contract
Submission of a proposal does not create any contractual obligation.
9. Timeline
Initial Priority Submission Deadline: April 24, 2026
Submissions received by the priority deadline will be reviewed in the first evaluation round.
Following the initial review period, this RFP will remain open on a rolling basis to continue building Goldbelt’s cultural speaker database. Submissions received after the priority deadline may be reviewed in subsequent rounds as programming needs arise.
Goldbelt reserves the right to contact respondents at any time for additional information or potential engagement.
