Request for Proposal (RFP): Design, Fabrication, and Delivery of Building Signage

Project Overview: We invite proposals for the design, fabrication, and delivery of building signage (x2) for Goldbelt, Inc Headquarters located at 3017 and 3025 Clinton Drive, Juneau, AK 99801. The primary focus of this RFP is on the creative design, quality fabrication, and timely delivery of the signage.
Background: Founded in 1973 and officially incorporated in 1974, Goldbelt is the urban corporation that represents the Juneau area. We remember the stories and traditions of the past, while working to build a bright future for our shareholders in Southeast Alaska and beyond.
Goldbelt Mission: “Goldbelt is committed to making a significant and positive difference in the lives of our shareholders.”
Sign Concept: Goldbelt is committed to displaying and promoting a positive image of our heritage in the surrounding community. The new signs shall incorporate the principles and traditions that guide Goldbelt, ensuring that Goldbelt is honoring its history with the greatest of dignity.
Scope of Work:
1. Design:
- Develop a visually appealing and brand-aligned design for the building signage.
- Signage to be hand carved.
- There will be a total of two signs. One for the building located at 3017 Clinton Drive and the other for the building located at 3025 Clinton Drive
- Signs will be freestanding on posts and dimensions will be maximum 4’ x 6’.
- Both signs will incorporate company logo, name, and address.
- Building 3017 sign will incorporate raven artwork and Building 3025 sign will incorporate eagle artwork.
- Provide mock-ups or digital renderings for approval.
2. Fabrication:
- Utilize cedar for both signs.
- Clearly specify the materials to be used in the fabrication of the sign.
- Ensure high-quality craftsmanship in the fabrication process.
3. Delivery:
- Safely package the completed signage for transit.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery process to ensure the signage arrives in pristine condition.
Proposal Submission Guidelines: Interested parties should submit their proposals by March 7, 2024. Submissions should include the following:
1. Artist Overview:
- Provide a brief overview of the artist, emphasizing experience in Native Art design.
2. Design Portfolio:
- Showcase portfolio or examples of previous Native Art Carvings.
3. Detailed Proposal:
- Breakdown of the proposed design, materials, and attachment detail to (2) 6x6 cedar posts.
4. Delivery Plan:
- Provide estimated delivery timeline.
5. Cost Estimate:
Include a detailed cost estimate covering design, fabrication, and delivery.
Proposal Submission Timeline:
- RFP distribution February 15, 2024
- RFP inquiry period ends February 29, 2024
- RFP responses due March 7, 2024
- Anticipated Award March 15, 2024
- Completion depending on product TBD
All proposals must be submitted by March 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM Alaska Time. Late submissions will not be considered.

Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the creativity and quality of the design, the use of suitable materials, fabrication craftsmanship, delivery plan, and cost-effectiveness.
