Annual Meeting Recap

The 51st Annual Meeting of Goldbelt Shareholders was a success by all measures. There was an excellent turnout and festive atmosphere at Centennial Hall in Juneau where we welcomed 316 shareholders who brought 87 guests, with over 245 online viewers watching the livestream on MyGoldbelt. The meeting was a testament to what is possible when we resolve to come together to pursue a collective vision for a better future for our people.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended in person and watched the broadcast online. Your continued support and participation are the pillars of our growth and success. If you missed the meeting, you can watch the recording on MyGoldbelt under 'Forms and Services' and click the "Livestream Meeting Recordings" tab.

With 70.4% of voting shares being represented during this year’s election, the quorum was reached on June 10. The Elders’ Trust passed with 84.7% of shareholders voting yes and 15.3% voting no. Three members were elected to the Goldbelt board, two returning and one newly elected. Lisa-Marie Ikonomov and Todd Antioquia will return, and Anne Margaret Tompkins was newly elected. Each director will serve a three-year term that expires in 2028. The new and returning directors were sworn in following the annual meeting, and their terms began effective immediately

The board reorganized its officer positions, and they are as follows: Katherine Eldemar as Board Chair, Benjamin Coronell as Vice Chair, Lori Grant as Treasurer, and Lynette Page as Secretary. We want to thank all the returning and outgoing directors for their dedication, leadership, and service to Goldbelt. To learn more about the Elders’ Trust, visit the FAQ page MyGoldbelt - Proposed Elders' Trust

Other agenda highlights included an opening performance by the Juneau-based Yées Ḵu.oo Dancers, honoring veterans, and remembrance tributes for shareholders who have passed. The meeting also featured updates on Board committee reports; a shareholder executive leadership overview from Nadja Kookesh, Ben Johnson, and Steve Sahlender; and there was an update on the Goldbelt Ancestral Trust.

President and CEO McHugh Pierre delivered a business presentation, updating shareholders on Goldbelt’s operations, growth, and exciting initiatives—including the Douglas Port, Cascade Point, and gondola profit sharing project with the City and Borough of Juneau.
