Goldbelt is seeking photos from shareholders and descendants for use in 2021 and 2022 Goldbelt Publications with the launch of the “Our Way of Life” photo contestThe first, second and third place winners will be awarded cash prizes and their names and photos will appear in the Kookeena Newsletter! All shareholders who submit at least one photograph will be entered into a Photography Prize Drawing for an additional $100 cash prize raffle 


1st  Place $500  

2nd Place = $300 

3rd Place = $200

THEME: “Our Way of Life 

Winter, spring, summer or fall, there’s something to celebrate every season and every day — share what makes you happy! We are looking for photos that exemplify the diverse lifestyles, cultures and places that define Our People, including: 

  • Family Culture 

  • Seasonal/scenic views of Southeast Alaska 

  • Subsistence and cultural activities, including arts and crafts, favorite regalia 



This photo contest is open to Goldbelt shareholders and Descendants, regardless of age and/or location. Successful entries will be submitted via email and include all information outlined under “submissions” prior to the deadline of October 1, 2021. 



Only high-resolution electronic .jpg or .png files will be accepted. Hard copy photos or photos sent via thumb drive will not be accepted. 

Photos in landscape/horizontal format are preferred. 

Photos must have been taken in the last two years. 

Five photos maximum can be submitted per shareholder. 

Photos must be submitted by the original photographer. 

Photographs must be in digital format, with a .jpg or .png file type. If taken on a phone, ensure the resolution is at least 5 megapixels. Most phones from the last 5 years should meet this requirement. 

No borders, frames, filters, watermarks or signatures may be added. 

By submitting a photo, you consent that your photo may be published by Goldbelt in promotional materials at the company’s discretion without compensation to you. 

All photos including an image of a minor(s) MUST include a signed photo release for each minor pictured. You can find the Photo Release Form on the Forms page of MyGoldbelt. 



maximum of five photos per shareholder may be sent to before October 1, 2021. The information below is required for each photo submission and must be included for the photo to be considered: 


Full name of photographer and Tlingit name, if applicable  

Photographer’s phone number and email address. 

Name(s) of any people in the photo, if applicable. 

Location where the photo was taken. 

Description of what is shown in the photo. 

Date (or estimated date) photo was taken. 



A committee of Goldbelt employees will be selected as judges. All entries will be judged on content and originality. The judges’ decisions will be final. Judging is scheduled to conclude October 15, 2021. All shareholders who submit photos will be entered into the $100 cash prize drawing. 



By submitting photos to, you agree that Goldbelt has permission to publish your photo in promotional material. Once winning photos are selected in October 2021Goldbelt will confirm the consent of the photographer and any identifiable person(s) shown in the photos before publishing.  



By entering this contest, photographers grant Goldbelt, Inc. a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, publish, display, distribute, reproduce, edit, adapt and create derivative works of the submitted photograph, in whole or in part, in any media now known or hereafter discovered, including in use on websites, in publications and for promotional purposes, without compensation or prior notice to you, your successor or assigns, or any other person or entity. Entering a submission in this contest constitutes your irrevocable assignment, conveyance, and transference to Goldbelt of these rights.
